Anarkali Salim Love Story


Salim (Jahagir) was the son of the Mughal emperor Akbar, the son born to Akbar as a result of the blessing of the Sufi saint Salim Chisti. Salim, who was lazy in his growing up days, was sent to a military camp to make him a disciplined ruler. It all started with the Attapa music festival held in the palace. Nathiram was the daughter of Akbar’s favorite maid Noorkan Arkun. Nathiram was an Attaka who gained fame in Attapkala, Lahore and surrounding areas.

Anarkali had captured the heart of Prince Salim with the beautiful Attapa celebrations held in the royal palace and the two, who were so special to each other, fell deeply in love.

Both of them used to meet very secretly. Finally, this news reached the ears of Emperor Akbar and Salim revealed his desire to marry Anarkali in front of his father, who questioned the relationship between the two.
The relationship between father and son was strained when Salim’s desire to see Anarkali was accompanied by the Emperor, who strongly disapproved of this marriage.

Salim and Anarkali decide to live together and their love refuses to die, but their relationship faces strong opposition from the emperor, who sees it as a threat to his authority. Despite the dangers, Salim and Anarkali continue to meet secretly, knowing that their love is at risk.

As their affair became more public, the emperor became more and more enraged and finally ordered Anarkali buried alive against a wall. Heartbroken on hearing the news, Salim begged his father to spare Anarkali’s life, but the Emperor was unmoved. Salim is devastated and vows to never forgive his father for what he has done.

Despite the terrible fate, Anarkali’s love for Salim never wavered and she remained loyal to him even in death. Overwhelmed with grief and guilt, Salim vows to honor Anarkali’s memory and spend the rest of his life trying to find a way to bring her back to life.
